Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, has a glorious history that is connected to the Chakri dynasty, which still reigns but does not rule in Thailand. Settle in at the hotel and enjoy some free time to relax.

Overnight in Bangkok

In the morning, explore the Grand Royal Palace, where the royal family of Thailand holds ceremonies. Inside the palace grounds, we will see the stunning Wat Phra Kaew, which houses the Statue of the Emerald Buddha. Proceed to Wat Pho, where a huge reclining Buddha lies. continue to Wat Traimit, which is famous for the Golden Buddha.

In the afternoon, take a long tail boat ride along the Chao Phraya River and its busy canals and observe the local life up close. Stop by at Wat Arun, the temple of the Dawn. Return to the hotel and have some free time to relax.

Overnight in Bangkok

Leave Bangkok early in the morning and head southwest to visit the Mae Klong railway market, where you can take pictures and enjoy some local snacks. Then drive to Damnoen Saduak, a rural floating market. Board a long-tailed boat and cruise along the waterway to see the colorful floating market. After that, continue to Kanchanaburi, a city with a history of World War II. Visit the Jeath War Museum, the Cemetery, and the Bridge over the River Kwai, which are all memorials of the war.

Have lunch at a floating restaurant next to the bridge (at own expense). Proceed to Wang Pho and take a train ride along the railway for about 30 minutes, enjoying the beautiful river view.

Overnight in Kanchanaburi

In the moring, drive to Erawan Waterfall, a stunning seven-tiered waterfall in Erawan National Park. Walk up to see each of the beautiful falls and bring good walking shoes for the hike. You can also swim in the natural pools of the falls if you bring your swimsuit.

In the afternoon, continue your journey to Ayutthaya, the ancient city that was once known as the ‘Venice of the East’. Ayutthaya is surrounded by the Chao Phraya River and its tributaries. You will see many monuments and ruins from the period when Ayutthaya was founded in 1350 by King Uthong. He moved the Thai people to the south to escape the pressure from their northern neighbours.

In the morning, ride a Kermit tuk tuk, a unique and colorful vehicle that is only found in Ayutthaya and Trang provinces. Visit the temple highlights of the city, such as Wat Yai Chaimongkol, Wat Mahathat (where you can see a Buddha face emerging from a tree), and a local market on the way to Wat Phra Srisanphet. Proceed to the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, a historical site that features a mix of European, Khmer, Thai and Chinese architecture. It is the favorite summer palace of the King. Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source.
